- quilting cotton — Quilting cotton can be easily sourced and comes in a gazillion colors and pattern options. Plus, it’s one of the easier fabrics to work with. I do recommend using a fabric stabilizer (e.g., Pellon SF101) when using quilting cotton for this project.
- fleece — Make your gnomes as cuddly as can be with fleece fabrics. Fleece is also generally an easy fabric to work with. You can also use fleece for parts of the pattern, like the nose and hands.
- felt — Felt is another great fabric to use for the plush Cone Gnome. If you choose to use felt, I recommend selecting a high-quality felt (vs. craft felt). Felt also makes a great material for adding extra details to your gnome.
- flannel — Flannel is another great option for making your gnome perfectly soft and cuddly. Plus, who doesn’t want to see a gnome in a plaid flannel fabric?!
