A friend of mine loves to wear lots of sparkle and bling. She has an impressive collection of costume jewelry that I just had to contribute to. I handmade this purple and chain statement necklace with matching earrings to add to her jewelry box.
This purple and chain statement necklace can easily be made with just a few items.
Materials
- 2 contrasting chains
- jump rings in various sizes
- large lobster clasp
- sparkly purple glass beads (the same ones I used here)
- silver disco ball beads (not pictured above)
- rhinestone beads
- eye pins (not pictured above)
First I cut the two chains to the desired lengths and connected with double jump rings. The upper chain was cut in the middle and a lobster clasp and jump ring were attached.
The purple glass beads, silver disco ball beads, and rhinestone beads were threaded onto the eye pins to create different lengths and variations. These were then attached to the chain so the longest piece is in the center.
My friend thought this purple and chain statement necklace turned out perfect. The purple and bling is exactly what she loves.

Hi I love this necklace! Can you please let me know the length of each chain when cut and the total length of the necklace.
Thanks So Much

Hi Angelia – I wish I could tell you exact lengths but I gifted this necklace to a friend and cannot measure it for you. What I can tell you is that the necklace was likely about 16″ in length (around the neck) which is a standard necklace length. I hope that helps :)
