It’s the beginning of a new year and that means a whole new lineup of summer music festivals. With that comes the 2015 festival fashion planning! Get ready for your favorite music festival using last year’s wristbands with this festival fashion bracelet remix.
2015 DIY Festival Fashion
This diy festival bracelet is made up of three uncut wristbands from last year’s Spring Awakening Music Festival.
Materials and Tools
- 3 festival wristbands
- 3 large jump rings
- 1 lobster clasp
- 3 beads (I used the plastic locking beads that came with the festival’s wristbands)
- thread
- safety pins/straight pins
- sewing machine (optional)
- scissors
Directions
Lay the three cloth wristbands together, loop one end through a jump ring, pin in place, and sew together.
Add a bead.
Using a safety pin, attach the jump ring to something secure. Braid the three wristbands together being careful that they lay the same way as you go.
Braid 5″-6″ so it fits around your wrist with the desired looseness. Add a safety pin to hold the braided pieces together.
Attach lobster clasp to another jump ring, fold over cloth pieces, sew. Remove the jump ring form the loop and slide on another bead. Replace jumpring and lobster clasp.
Create a tassel with the extra fabric. Cut off the loose ends, make another loop, add a jump ring, sew, add bead.
Remember to save your wristbands from this year’s summer festivals to make this fun bracelet. This DIY bracelet makes it so you can wear the memory of that weekend forever. :)
Add this bracelet to your festival fashion this season!
